It has been a while hasn't it. Let me start by telling you that all that was, is no longer and all that is, is absolutely amazing.
I started this site a few years back to keep in touch with my Newfoundland roots. I have always thought of myself as a Newfoundlander and when asked where is home I always said I was from Newfoundland but currently living in New Brunswick. We'll all that has changed. I am now a Newfoundlander living in Newfoundland.
On September 14, 2008 I was listening to Salt Water Joys on Jigs and Reels and decided enough is enough. I don't have to be a Newfoundlander living in New Brunswick. I went to work in New Brunswick for the last time on September 15Th which also happens to be my wife's birthday. I called her and said Happy Birthday, we're moving back to Newfoundland and by the way I'm unemployed. She was scared and excited of course because she had no idea I was going to make such a drastic move. :)
On September 20 I accepted a new offer to work in Newfoundland and had the house listed for sale. On October 29Th we arrived in our U-Haul with all of our belongings and a signed offer on our house. I started my new job on November 3rd and our house in New Brunswick closed on December 1st.
We are excited to be home and everything is absolutely amazing. We'll try to keep you up to date more often. Stay tuned.

Eagles in Moncton
This is a big weekend for eagles in Moncton, NB. The band The Eagles will be performing at Magnatic Hill and some eagles have been spotted in Riverview as well. I took these pictures of 5 eagles playing above our house. This is a common sight for us but apparently not a common occurance for eagles.
If you look closely at the above picture you can see 5 eagles. There are 3 on the left, 1 on the right, and 1 near the bottom.
The above picture is of one of the eagles with wings extended.

This was the closest that one came to us that day. The wings are extended as well and you can see a lot of detail.

Tell me a Newfie Joke
Hi All,
I am on the hunt for some really good Newfie Jokes. I love to tell them but I really love to hear them. If you have a good joke please leave it as a comment along with your name and email address. I'll be sure to post some of the good ones (without the email of course).
Thanks,
Truenewfie.com

I have been quoted by Microsoft!!!
I have been working in the computer industry for many years now and during this time I have had the opportunity to work for myself, work for small start up companies, as well as work for multinational companies with billions of dollars in revenue.
Along the way I have held many positions such as independent consultant, software developer, project manager, design architect, and currently I am the Chief Technical Officer for a great company called BelTek Systems Design Inc.
This career path has seen me set and achieve many, many goals for myself and I am still continuing to set new goals each and every day. A recent goal that I set for myself was to be recognized and published in a Microsoft authored document and it has happened. I can't take all the credit for it as some really talented people helped me get there but I will bask in the rays of sunshine that I feel from this accomplishment. Can you tell that I am proud?
Just recently I was involved in a conversation with Microsoft that has turned out to be the icing on the cake for my career so far. The conversation was about how our company uses our relationship with Microsoft to better our position in the market place. Microsoft liked the idea and put together the following case study about it.

Giving the Perfect Gift
I am not sure about you but I often find it hard to choose gifts for people. I don't know if it is a guy thing or if I am just lazy. Either way, I often find it a difficult task. Please don't get me wrong, I enjoy giving gifts and it makes me happy when the person receiving the gift likes what I gave them. I just sometimes find it hard.
There are many options to assist with this process such as asking another friend to help you pick out the gift or simply giving a card with cash in it. Both of these options work but for me they just don't seem to have the personal touch that I want to present.
I have just recently been introduced to another option. It is similar to a giving gift card except there are a select number of gifts to choose from so both me and the receiver know what the gift is that I gave them. There is still that personal connection of giving that specific gift and there is also a level of selection for the receiver so that they can choose what they want.
It really is simple. Why don't you go to my webpage to check it out.
